Resolution

Tyler routinely monitors our supported payment providers to ensure they align with the goal of providing the best experience for our clients and their constituency. In addition, with the incorporation of the Digital Solutions Division (NIC), Tyler now has the ability to serve more client payment needs directly. As a result, Tyler has elected to discontinue support for BridgePay on December 31, 2024.

If you currently leverage BridgePay as a gateway for payment processing, your organization will need to secure a supported alternative ahead of the December 31, 2024 deadline.

  • We encourage all clients to contact their Tyler sales representative to evaluate supported go-forward options that best align with their business needs at their earliest convenience.
  • If you do not currently accept credit cards as a form of tender, or if you process credit card transactions outside of a Tyler application, you are not impacted by this policy change.
  • If you utilize Tyler’s Payments solution, you do not have to take any further action.
  • The Tyler applications that are impacted by this change include Enterprise ERP (Munis), Enterprise Permitting & Licensing (EnerGov), Cashiering, and New World ERP. Clients can still utilize BridgePay for non-Tyler applications not listed here.

Additional Information

Frequently Asked Questions:

What are the approved payment processing providers?

  • As of 2020, Tyler announced a reduced list of gateway processors supported by Cashiering and public-facing portals to: Tyler’s Payments application, OpenEdge, BridgePay, and Persolvent/USAePay. This new policy update removes BridgePay support as of December 31, 2024, resulting in an updated approved list of vendors: Tyler’s Payments application, OpenEdge, and Persolvent/USAePay as supported providers.

What makes these gateway providers more valuable?

  • Tyler routinely monitors our supported payment providers to ensure they align with the goal of providing the best experience for our clients and their constituency. Consequently, over time, Tyler has reduced the number of credit card processing vendors connected to its applications. Tyler’s current supported processing vendors are quality assured integrations, validated as part of our ongoing enhancements and testing.

I see references to Gateway and Payment Processing, but which is impacted with this policy change?

  • BridgePay offered clients a Merchant Server Provider (MSP) agnostic payment gateway. Tyler's use of the the BridgePay solution enabled clients to work with any MSP that utilized a processor certified with the BridgePay gateway. In time, removing support for the BridgePay gateway will require clients to seek out a new Tyler supported MSP to work with.

Is this change tied to any Tyler version?

  • The Tyler support end-of-life date of December 31, 2024, is not tied to an application’s release stream at this time. This date was specified to ease the support change across applicable products.

Will this cost me any more money?

  • The end of support for BridgePay with Tyler applications will not cause a change in costs for existing Tyler applications. Clients will need to secure a new contractual arrangement with a supported payment provider in replacement of BridgePay.

What if I don’t accept or process credit cards?

  • If you do not currently accept credit cards as a form of tender, or if you process credit card transactions outside of a Tyler application, you are not impacted by this policy change.

Will ending support for BridgePay impact any other Tyler applications besides Enterprise ERP (Munis), Enterprise Permitting & Licensing (EnerGov), Cashiering and New World ERP?

  • Please reach out to your sales representative for further details on any other Tyler application integrations. Clients can still utilize BridgePay for non-Tyler applications not listed here.
