Resolution

Accounts may need to be adjusted to inactive before being closed due to current year activity preventing closing.

Closed:

  • Can only be designated if no activity (other than budget activity if the fund is a multi-year fund) posted to it in the current year.
  • Completely closed to input and only prints on reports offering the option to print closed accounts.
  • Users cannot enter or post transactions against it.

Inactive:

  • Can be designated any time in the fiscal year, even with current year transactions.
  • Prevents posting to an account.
  • Without the General maintenance on accounts permission, users cannot enter transactions against it.
  • Prints on reports (with appropriate permission).
