Description of Issue

Seeking steps for how to sync users and their respective permissions from Munis to TCM.

Context
  • Munis
  • Tyler Content Manager
  • TCM
Cause


Resolution

There are two ways any given site administrator can sync a user ID from Munis to TCM:

1.

  • Tyler Menu 
  • System Administration > General Administration > TylerCM for Munis Settings
  • Synchronize Users
  • Select user ID(s) to be synced 
  • Use tcmadmin credentials (found on Site Report) to complete sync. Please consult your site/system administrator if you do not have access to these credentials. 

2. 

  • Tyler Menu 
  • System Administration > Security > User Attributes > search on user ID
  • Syncrhonize Users
  • Select user ID(s) to be synced 
  • Use tcmadmin credentials (found on Site Report) to complete sync. Please consult your site/system administrator if you do not have access to these credentials. 

Once a user is synced successfully, that user ID as well as the assigned MUNISUSERS group will exist in the TCM Full Client > Administration > Security Manager > Users. 


To also sync the assigned MU_xxx TCM security groups from Munis to TCM for any given user, please follow the remaining steps:


  • Tyler Menu 
  • System Administration > Security > User Attributes > search on user ID 
  • Under the Roles tab, remove any given role and add it back. This will trigger role calc to run and add those MU_xxx TCM security groups to the corresponding user ID in the TCM Full Client > Administration > Security Manager > Users. 
Additional Information

Please contact TCM Support for any further questions/concerns if the steps provided are not working to trigger the sync. Please provide the user ID(s) affected and the Munis environment you are working in (LIVE, TEST, TRAIN, etc).
