Fiscal Year on the Payroll Start and Status screen

What is the fiscal year on the Payroll Start and Status screen used for?

• Munis
• Payroll Processing
• Employee Accumulators

This setting determines which Fiscal Year accumulators are added or updated when running a payroll.  If enter 2021 for the Fiscal Year on the Payroll Start and Status screen, the system will add or update the Fiscal Year 2021 accumulators.

• This setting does not impact the GL Posting for the payroll.  The user running the payroll defines which year and period to post the payroll to when they process the General Ledger Distribution.
• The Fiscal Year defaults in from the ‘Journal Number Control’ screen. This is in Munis under Financials > General Ledger Menu > Miscellaneous Set Up > Journal Number Control.
• Users may also override the default Fiscal year field when starting a payroll.
