Description of Issue

Imported Journal didn't trigger GLJ workflow after importing and being released

How to bypass workflow for imported journals GNI or GEL journals

Context

Cause

A user who has GL Role Permission 'Import as interface' selected during import and no workflow Journal Type with Interface option selected exists

Resolution

If GLJ workflow exists with Journal Type defined as Interface only transactions imported with option Import as interface satisfy the rule condition.

To ensure that imported journals trigger workflow, users must uncheck the box next to Import as interface when defining import parameters within Import Journals and ensure workflow Journal Type is set to Standard.

Additional Information
  • The Import as interface selection prompts Enterprise ERP to follow Interface specific workflow on the journal being imported, this workflow is available on GLJ business rules within the Journal Type dropdown.
  • To remove access to the Import as interface setting, follow the steps for updating a Role impacts all users assigned to the Role
    1. Browse to Enterprise ERP > System Administration > Security > RolesĀ 
    2. Search for the role you'd like to adjust
    3. General Ledger
    4. Update
    5. Uncheck Import journals as interface
    6. Accept
