How to Import a Salary Table

Creating the Template needs to be done in specific steps:

  1. After the import file is created, it should have the first column as Record Type with each row corresponding to the Header or Detail data. 
    1. The file is recommended to be saved as a .CSV (comma delimited) file. 
  2. Go to the Salary Tables program (Human Resources>Position Control and Budgeting>Salary Tables) (Also can be done within Projection Start and Status > Salary Tables)
  3. Click Import in the toolbar. 
  4. Click Custom Templates.
  5. Click Create Template
  6. Define the New Template fields:
    1. Template Layout should default as Multi-line
    2. Define a Name for the Template
    3. File Delimiter is Other, then define a comma (,)in the field next to Other. 
    4. Click Browse to select the file.
    5. Leave both First line Contains Headers and Attempt Field Matching Based on headers unchecked. 
  7. Click Upload
  8. Under Line Detail, click the drop down and select Header
  9. In the first Column select Record Type
  10. Back in the header section, in the Value field, type in Header
  11. Select all the drop downs to define all the Header fields (Action Flag, Effective Date, Group BU, Description, Pay Band, Grade/Rank, Pay Basis, etc.)
  12. Once all header columns are defined, go back to the Line Type drop down and choose Detail
  13. The first Column choose Record Type from the drop down. 
  14. Back in the header section, in the Value field, type in Detail.
  15. Select all the drop downs to define all the Detail fields (Step/Level, Hourly Rate, Daily Rate, Period Salary, Annual Salary)
  16. Click Save
  17. Proceed with Import.
