  • This issue occurs when posting with a Date or GL Year/Period that is outside the user's associated role(s) General Ledger permissions period range
  • Can also occur if the Default Year/Period in General Ledger Settings are not kept current and up to date in reference to today's date, and the user's associated role(s) does not have General Ledger permissions to post to future periods

General Ledger Role permissions - Maintain a user's posting period range:

  1. Navigate
  2. to System Administration>Security>User Attributes>Search for the user in question and click Accept
  3. to System Administration > Security > User Attributes
  4. Click Search. 
  5. Enter the User ID of the user whose permissions need to be adjusted. 
  6. Single click and highlight
  7. the

  10.  that contains General Ledger permissions to be updated.
  11. Click 
  12. Click Edit Role

  17. Click Update.

General Ledger Settings - Verify Default Year/Period is current and correct:

  1. IMPORTANT: Before changing anything in GL Settings, consult with your supervisor. Note: the Auto Update box indicates that the Default Year/Period is maintained automatically by a Scheduled job instead of maintained manually.

  4. Financials > General Ledger Menu > Set Up/Chart of

  6. Accounts > General Ledger Settings
  7. Verify the Default Year/Period are current and
