Position Description can only be updated via the Position Control Import.

  1. Navigate to Position Control

    1. EERP > Human Capital Management > Human Resources > Position Control and Budgeting > Position Control

  2. Search to establish an active set of all of the records to be updated 

  3. Click Excel in the banner to export the active set to Microsoft Excel

  4. The fields to include in the export - Position, Position Description, and Effective Date

    1. All other boxes can remain unchecked in the Export Filter

  5. In the Excel spreadsheet, update the Position Description column

  6. Save as a .csv file

  7. Return to Position Control and click on Import in the top banner to access the Position Control Import

  8. Click Custom Templates in the top banner

  9. Select and Import Type of POSITION 

  10. Click New Template and define Template Layout, Name, File Delimiter, and Input File 

    1. The newly created Excel file will be used as a sample import file

    2. The delimiter should be set to None 

  11. Click Upload

    1. The columns on your Custom Template should match the fields exported to Excel

  12. Return to Position Control Import

  13. Click Define to define Import Parameters with the new Template and Excel file

  14. Check Skip Fist Line if the first line in import file is a header line

  15. Click Accept

  16. Now the Position Description field is updated on all records in the active set
