Error received when posting new assets: Only periods between XXXX/XX and XXXX/XX are valid

Cause
General Ledger role permissions restrict the user to posting in a certain number of periods prior to and beyond the default year and period specified in General Ledger Settings.
Resolution
- In General Ledger Settings, update the default year/period (or wait for it to be updated by someone else)
- In General Ledger role permissions, extend the periods the user is allowed to post in
