Unable to Modify Rate in Time Entry

Description of Issue

User is unable to modify any employee rates inside of Time Entry.  They are able to update the Quantity, but the Rate is either greyed out or reverts back to the previous rate once saving.

Cause

Role(s) assigned to user do not permit the modification of Rates within Time Entry Batches.

Resolution

At least one of the Roles assigned to the user must have have Edit defined in the Rates / Amounts field for their Time Entry Permissions.

  1. Go to User Attributes (System Administration>Security>User Attributes)

  2. Search for the user. Click on the Role that provides payroll access. Click Edit Role at the bottom.

  3. Click the HR Management/Payroll folder. 

  4. Click Update.

  5. Select the Time Entry tab.

  6. Update the Rates / Amounts field to Edit.

  7. Select Save.

The user may need to log out and log back in for the changes to take effect.
