Asterisk missing from CSS

Asterisk missing from CSS

Description of Issue
  • The asterisk for unpaid bills is missing from CSS

Context

Enterprise ERP (powered by Munis)

Citizen Self Service (CSS)

Property Revenue

Real Estate Taxes

Cause

Sites upgrading from 11.3 to 2019.1+ are noticing that the asterisk is missing from CSS and customers are able to pay newer bills when there are still prior outstanding bills.

Resolution

Use the following steps to turn on the asterisk and stop customers from paying newer bills before paying delinquent bills.

  1. Sign into CSS as an Admin.

  2. Navigate to Citizen Administration > Payments > Shopping Cart.

  3. Scroll down to the Bill Categories section and click Edit for REAL ESTATE.

  4. Find the options for Payment blockage and select Block payment when prior unpaid bills exist for parcel.

  5. Click Update to save the changes.

The asterisk will now show on the most outstanding Real Estate bill and will not allow payment to newer bills.
