How Do I Connect to a Database Using SSMS



Description of Issue

Want to connect to the Munis database using SSMS



Context
  • Munis

  • SQL Server

  • SSMS

  • Reporting

  • Munis Administration

  • Datacenter



Cause

Customer needs settings to connect using SSMS



Resolution
  1. Connecting user will need to have a Reporting account to be allowed to connect

  2. Connections only allowed through the Hardware VPN or Secure.tylertech.com

    1. Open SSMS

    2. Click on Connect to Server at the top of the browser window on the left

    3. Server Type is Database Engine

    4. Type in Servername.tylerhost.net or Servername.tylertech.com

    5. Authentication Type should be SQL Authentication

    6. Username and password are your Datacenter credentials



Additional Information

This article is only pertinent to customers who are hosted at the Datacenter and access Munis across the ASA VPN.
