Description of Issue

  • Handheld scanner is not reading underscores 

  • Receive an error: Invalid Format

Cause

Code 39 barcodes do not support underscores as it translates the character as a space 



Resolution

Use Code 128 barcodes 



Additional Information

  • If you use Zebra Designer Pro the barcode can be switched on the template

  • If you use Microsoft Word/Excel use a Code 128 font style
