Missing journal year in Journal Control 

Financials > General Ledger > Miscellaneous Setup > Journal Control

1. Click Search
2. Enter Current Year in Year Field
3. Click Accept
4. If no records are found, you can add/copy a new record following these instructions: How to set up Journal Number Control

• This warning is an indication that the effective date for the transaction falls outside the Default Period. If the user has permission to post to the period, the Default Period on the transaction will update to period that matches the Effective Date. If the user has posting restrictions, this warning will be a hard stop. 
• The effective dates allowed for each period can be reviewed in the Journal Number Control program.
• General Ledger user permissions for posting are further reviewed here: User was able to enter a transaction in a period prior to or beyond the default period
