Blank screen when accessing TPAR External Portal

Description of Issue

When loading the External Portal for TPAR, I receive a blank screen and the URL that loads looks like this:
/prod/ParksRec/portal/api/Error?LoggedErrorID=LOG%20ERROR%3A%20THE%20SOURCE%20WAS%20NOT%20FOUND%2C%20BUT%20SOME%20OR%20ALL%20EVENT%20LOGS%20COULD%20NOT%20BE%20SEARCHED.%20%20TO%20CREATE%20THE%20SOURCE%2C%20YOU%20NEED%20PERMISSION%20TO%20READ%20ALL%20EVENT%20LOGS%20TO%20MAKE%20SURE%20THAT%20THE%20NEW%20SOURCE%20NAME%20IS%20UNIQUE.%20%20INACCESSIBLE%20LOGS%3A%20SECURITY%2C%20STATE.

  • Tyler Parks and Rec (TPAR)



Cause

This could occur because the external web server is unable to connect to the SQL Server. 



Resolution

Verify connectivity on the External Web Server to the internal SQL server via server name and port. 

Please contact TSM Support for additional assistance. 



Additional Information

Verify that SQL Browser Service is started and open in the firewall on the internal SQL Server. 

May need to create SQL Alias with cliconfg.exe on External Web Server to connect from the external web server to the internal SQL server.Â
