What is the meaning of Freed workflow?

When a user selects "Hold" from their actions while an approver for an item the workflow log will show an action taken of "Held".

When the hold is released the "Held" action taken is updated to say "Freed" instead. 

When you click on remove hold and go back to approvals the record will display as freed.

This wording was possibly used to avoid confusion with release being an action and a status already.
