Add Charges to a Parcel

Description of Issue

A parcel needs charges added to it. 

Context
  • Property Tax Billing 
  • Parcels (txremast) 
Cause

The parcel was newly added or has new charges that need to be added for the first time. 

Resolution
  1. If already on the parcel record, skip to step 7. 
  2. If not already on the parcel record, navigate to the Parcels program either by searching or using the following path: Property Revenues > Property Tax Billing > Region > State > Assessor Processing and Reports > Parcels
  3. Click Search.
  4. If it asks if it should search for Current or Tax records, choose Current to update the current record and Tax to update that year's tax record. (Only current records may be updated unless in the middle of an active bill run. Then records for that tax year may be updated. Records for past tax years are locked and cannot be changed.)
  5. Enter the Parcel ID. 
  6. Click Accept. 
  7. On the parcel record, click Charges from the top ribbon.  
  8. Click Add
  9. Choose the Charge. (If a brand new charge needs to be setup, please follow the steps outlined here: Add a Charge Code
  10. Enter the Percent of the charge to apply. (Note: Full field descriptions are available at any point by clicking the question mark icon in the upper right corner and then clicking Help.) 
  11. Click Accept. 
  12. Repeat steps 8-11 for all necessary charges. 
  13. Click Recalc Charges to calculate the Tax Amount based on the values of the parcel, percent of the charge, and rate of the charge code.
