Duplicate organization codes with the same segment structure

• Duplicate accounts exist

• Identical segments are shared by one or more Org codes resulting in duplicate Org codes

• Different Org codes should never share the same segments

• Entry programs

• Chart Manager

• Chart of Account Segments

• Account Import

• Account Master

More than one Organization code in Munis is set up with the same account segment combination. 

To identity Org codes sharing the same segments:

Financials > General Ledger Menu > Set Up/Chart of Accounts > Chart of Account Segments

1. Select Organization Code from GL Segment dropdown

2. Accept

3. Search icon

4. Enter Org code

5. Accept

6. Make note of fund tied to Org code

7. Search

8. Select Fund from step 6 in Fund dropdown

9. Accept

10. Browse

• If identical segments exist for another Org code, and that Org code does not have transactions, objects or other dependencies associated with it, the Org can be deleted ***in a non-Live environment first, before proceeding in Live*** and the issue should be resolved

• Other options to correct are to [possibly merge the 2 accounts ***in a non-Live environment first, before proceeding in Live*** and the issue should be resolved

• If there are dependencies, contact Support

• The root cause should be determined
