Employee Job Salary Error Invalid GL account



Description of Issue

When trying to define a GL account to a Base pay record in Employee Job/Salary for new hire, I am getting an error and cannot add the account. 

Invalid GL account for employee job 6254 position  62540001 and pay 870



Context

Cause

Location code was not defined when adding the GL account in Job/Salary

The GL account was showing a Status of Inactive in Account Inquiry



Resolution
  1. Go to Employee Job/Salary (Payroll> Employee Maintenance>Employee Job/Salary)

  2. Click Add

  3. Define applicable fields. TAB down to the GL account fields.

  4. Select a valid GL account and Location from ellipses[...].

  5. Click Accept.

To find if the GL account is Invalid:

  1. Go to Account Inquiry (Financials>General Ledger Menu>Inquires and Reports>Account Inquiry)

  2. Search for the Org and Object. Click Accept

  3. Note the Status Field.
