Need to change ME PERS Position code value

Description of Issue

Reporting agency asked me to update the Position Code for EMTs. How do I do that?

ME PERS Position codes are stored in State Reporting Codes Miscellaneous Codes, which can be accessed from the ME Retirement Maintenance program, or from the ME Retirement Report program.

From ME Retirement Maintenance:

Select Update
Click on the folder to the right of the Position field
Select Define
Select RET POS - Retirement Position Codes from the Miscellaneous Code Type drop-down
Select Accept
Select Update
Make the desired edits
Select Accept
Select Back to return to the Maintenance screen
Select the new Position code from the Position drop-down
Select Accept

From ME Retirement Report:

Select State Reporting Codes
Select Miscellaneous Codes
Select Define
Select RET POS - Retirement Position Codes from the Miscellaneous Code Type drop-down
Select Accept
Select Update
Make the desired edits
Select Accept
Select Back to return to the State Reporting Codes screen
Select Back to return to the Report screen

Please begin transitioning to the new MainePERS Reporting program available in Version 2021.11 & Higher!

You will need to start with the MainePERS Reporting - Setup document to review and complete the required setup steps. Once setup is completed, please review the MainePERS Reporting - Processing document for step-by-step instructions on the new program. At that point, please Generate records in the new program and compare them to the records submitted from the old program for the same Reporting Month/Year. If everything matches, begin using the new program. Otherwise, please reach out to State Reporting Support for assistance with identified differences.
