Unable to Add or Maintain contractors

Description of Issue

Error when trying to access Contractors from Permits

Access denied due to program security established by the System Administrator

Context
  • Menu Access

  • System Administration

  • Permits and Code Enforcement Roles

Cause
  • No Tyler Menu access to Contractors or Customers programs, or limited module Role permissions

Resolution

Verify the end-user has both Menu access and module Role permissions to the program they are trying to open

  1. Tyler Menu > Munis > System Administration > Security > User Attributes

  2. Search

  3. Enter User Id

  4. Accept to display user record

  5. Select the Role line from the ROLES tab and click Edit Role button at the bottom

  6. Review both MENU SECURITY tab for menu access and MODULE VIEW for Permits and Code Enforcement Role permissions

    • User must have menu access to the Contractors and Customer programs

    • D. Property Revenues > E. Permits and Code Enforcement > A. Setup > C. Permits > K. Contractors

    • D. Property Revenues > E. Permits and Code Enforcement > A. Setup > F. Accounts Receivable > A. Customers

  7. If you find the Role does not have Menu access, Edit to open the update to allow checkboxes listed above to be selected > Accept to save.

  8. If you find the Role does not have module Role permissions to maintain Contractors (no Update button), select Permits and Code Enforcement folder > Update > navigate to the PERMIT APPLCATIONS / CONTRACTORS tab > check Maintain contractors > Accept to save

  9. Users assigned to this Role will need to have their Tyler Menu refreshed using the Refresh button on the Tyler Menu or logging out and logging back in

  10. If this does not resolve, please contact Community Development Support

Additional Information

Customers is also located under the direct Accounts Receivable menu and we must also grant menu access under the MENU SECURITY tab for D. Property Revenues > B. Accounts Receivable > A. Setup > L. Customers within the Roles program
