Description of Issue

  • Trying to preview a PCL format template in ReadyForms

  • No preview being generated

  • W2 Preview not working

  • Preview not working when processing the form in Enterprise ERP

Cause

When PCL templates are previewed, the output will be a PCL file that is designed to be read by printers, and cannot be opened without processing to a printer.



Resolution

There are 2 ways to preview the Template:

  1. During forms processing via Enterprise ERP

    1. the preview on a print step will not work, this is the expected behavior due to Template being a PCL format.

    2. the preview on an archive, download or save step will work as the Template is set to the PDF format.
