How to use wireshark to capture network data
Description of Issue
Unable to connect or communicate with remote server
Context
- ET
- ExecuTime
Cause
Network configuration is not allowing communication between servers
Resolution
- If wireshark is not already installed, download the latest 64 bit windows version from https://www.wireshark.org/download.html
- Open command prompt and start a ping to the server you're not able to connect to.
- launch wireshark
- double click on Ethernet in the middle of the screen
- let the capture run for a minute
- Hit the Stop button on top menu bar
- Select File > Save As
- Provide the saved file to your network admin for troubleshooting
