Illinois State Tax Table Setup
Description of Issue
- Where does the 1000 Additional Allowance amount go for the IL-Illinois state tax tables?
- How can I confirm I have the tax table setup properly?

Cause
- The State Code was setup with a Tax Table Code of 01-Like Federal instead of 37-Illinois SIT.
- Illinois does not require separate tax tables for Marital status so the Marital Status needs to be left blank on the Tax Table.
Resolution
- Go to State Codes (Payroll>Payroll Setup>Tax Table Setup>State Codes)
- Search for the State Code of IL. Click Accept.Â
- Click Update. Next to Tax Table Code select 37-ILLINOIS SIT. Click Accept.
- Go to Tax Tables (Payroll>Payroll Setup>Tax Table Setup>Tax Tables)
- Search for the current effective dated tax tables with a State Code of IL-ILLINOIS. Click Accept.
- Click Delete in the toolbar.Â
- Click Add. Define effective date, State Code IL-ILLINOIS, Pay Period A-ANNUAL, leave Tax Marital Status blank and Tax Table Code 37-ILLINOIS SIT. Click Accept.
- Click Calc in the toolbar.Â
- Define the amounts for each Basic Allowance, each Additional Allowance, Tax Rate and Supplemental Rate. Click Accept.
- There only needs to be one State Tax table for Illinois.
- Go to Deduction and Benefit Master (Payroll>Payroll Setup>Deduction and Benefit Master)
- Search for the State Tax Table deduction (4000). Click Accept.Â
- Click Update. Define the Tax Table Type to 37-ILLINOIS SIT. Click Accept.Â
