Tyler Cashiering No Values In Description Field

Description of Issue

When creating a new batch the description field shows no values or codes

Context
  • Tyler Cashiering (TC)
  • Genero Application Server (GAS) Services
  • Internet Information Services (IIS)
  • Managed Internet Update (MIU)
  • Munis
Cause

GAS services may be hung up and need to be restarted

Resolution

Tyler Hosted (SaaS) Clients do not have admin access to the servers and will need to contact out to Tyler Systems Management (TSM) Support for further assistance.


Verifying the error:

  1. Launch Tyler Cashiering
    1. Create a new batch
      1. Select Payment Type
      2. Click on Description box
      3. no values or a blank box is displayed


Resolving the error:

Versions 2017 and 2018

  1. Go to your Munis Application Server
    1. Launch the Managed Internet Update (MIU) program
    2. Select the environment affected (Prod, Test, Train, etc.)
    3. Restart all GAS services. 

This will cause a small outage in Munis for a few minutes.


Version 2019+

  1. Go to your Cashiering Server (This may be also your Munis Application Server)
    1. Launch Internet Information Services (IIS) on Windows Server
      1. Click on Application Pools
        1. Right Click on the Cashiering App Pool
        2. Select Recycle

This will cause a small outage in Cashiering for a few minutes.
