Using pay frequency to annualize deduction gross
Description of Issue
I have retirement and federal income tax that are both linked to annual tax tables. Not all of my employees have the same number of pays in Employee Job/Salary but I want them all to annualize their gross on the same value.
Context
- Munis
- Payroll
- Payroll Control Settings
- Employee Master
Cause
Resolution
- Access Payroll Control Settings: Payroll > Payroll Setup > Payroll Control Settings
- Scroll into the GENERAL section and double-click on the setting labeled USE FREQUENCY WHEN ANNUALIZING
- Click Update and enter a Y into the value field
- Click Accept
Additional Information
- When this control setting is set to Y, Munis will use the pay frequency of the employee in Employee Master (Payroll>Employee Maintenance>Employee Master) to determine the factor for annualizing the deduction gross.
- For example, if the employee is defined with a biweekly pay frequency, the deduction gross will be multiplied by 26. If it is a weekly pay frequency, the deduction gross will be multiplied by 52.
- When this setting is disabled, for annual calculations, the deduction gross will be multiplied by the number of pays defined on the base pay.
