Can next number for journals be set back in Journal Number Control to include Unused Journal numbers?

Can Unused Journal numbers be used by adjusting Journal Number Control so that journal numbers are not skipped?

Cause

Journals were deleted or canceled, so the journal numbers will be skipped on reports.

Resolution

Next jnl # field can not be updated in Journal Number Control to include journal numbers from Unused Journals to ensure unique journal numbers and an audit trail.
