How to hide SSNs in Payroll Module

Is there a way to hide or scramble Social Security Numbers (SSN) in Payroll and at the database level?

1. Go to Roles. (System Administration>Security>Roles)
2. Search for Role you want to Hide SSNs. Click Accept. 
3. Click HR Management/Payroll. 
4. Click Update. Uncheck the checkbox next to View SSN on Reports.
5. Click the Time Entry Tab. Uncheck the checkbox next to View SSNs.
6. Click the Category Access Tab. Use the drop down arrows to update category access to either Hide SSN (Inquiry Only) or Hide SSN (Update/Delete).
7. Click Accept.
8. Do steps 2-7 for each Role that should not be able to view SSNs.

Roles with Payroll Superuser permissions will always be able to see SSNs.
