Wrong Customers Placed on Accounts
Description of Issue
Is there a way to move a customer out of a property with no charges and reinstate the previous customer? The customers would like to be reimbursed for the bills that they have paid on the incorrect account and then bill the correct information to the correct customer,
Context
- UBCIS
- Utilities
- Move In
- Move Out
Cause
Wrong CID was moved into an account. This caused both to be in wrong Accounts and be charged for the incorrect bills.
Resolution
- Correct the Move in process while not giving the customer moving out a Final Bill
- Refund Clients
- If any Payment Activity, such as Apply Credits, has been done to either of the accounts you will need to Reverse these before refunding to ensure the amounts being refunded are correct.

- If any Payment Activity, such as Apply Credits, has been done to either of the accounts you will need to Reverse these before refunding to ensure the amounts being refunded are correct.
- The current bills need to be changed to correct CIDs and re-sent.
- Navigate to Property Revenues > Payment Processing > Bill Inquiry
- Search by Customer ID Click Go
- Click Original Bill
- Click Adj Bill Header
- Click Update
- Type in the new CID under the Number field
- Click Accept
- Select Back to return to Bill Inquiry.
- Click Accept for all changes to be saved.
- Select Reprint
- If you do not have this option in Bill Inquiry, you will need to do so in Bill Print.
Repeat step 3 for each bill separately as there is no current way to Mass reprint bills. Do for this for both Accounts and swap all bills for each customer. The address can be seen as you select the bills to make it a little easier which belong to whom. The Account number the bill is attached to is at bottom of the page where you change the CID as well.
