Position Control not reflecting new Salary Table rates

Description of Issue

Position Control is not picking up the new Salary Table rates.

Context
  • Enterprise ERP

  • EERP

  • Human Capital Management

  • Position Control

  • Salary Tables

Cause

The Effective Date on the Position Control record is earlier than the Effective Date of the Salary Table.

Resolution
  1. Navigate to Position Control

    1. EERP > Human Capital Management > Human Resources > Position Control and Budgeting

  2. Search on the Position

  3. Click Duplicate to duplicate the current position

  4. Define an Effective Date that is on or later than the Effective Date of the new Salary Table

Additional Information
  • Whenever there are changes to the salary table, positions linked to it must be duplicated in the position control system with updated effective dates. While this might raise concerns about creating too many duplicate records, it is important to note that position records are similar to employee job salary records. Multiple entries for the same position numbers are not true duplicates - they are differentiated by their effective date or, if the position is tied to multiple job classes, by separate records for each class. Once the position record is duplicated with the new effective date, the salary table will update as expected. This duplication creates a new record instance, allowing you to track the history of position changes.
