Salary Table and Effective Dates

Salary Table and Effective Dates

Description of Issue

When doing a Mass Contract Change or Mass Step Increase, how does the system know which Salary Table to use?

Context
  • Enterprise ERP Payroll Support

  • Salary Tables

  • Mass Salary Changes

  • Effective Dated Pays

Cause

Informational.

Resolution

The Effective Date that is defined when creating a new Job/Salary record, whether by Duplicating or Adding in Job/Salary, using Employee Import, or running a Mass Salary Change program, will determine which Salary Table it looks at.

Example, the most recent Salary Table for a Group/BU is from 1/1/24, and employees in that Group/BU are receiving only a Step Increase as of 1/1/25. When defining the Mass Step Increase, a defined date of 1/1/25 will look at the table for 1/1/24 for all included Grades in that Group/BU.
