What does the Allocation Field do in Pay Master

What does the Allocation Field do in Pay Master

Description of Issue

What is the Allocation field in Pay Master used for in regards to associated pay types? (ie. Accruals and non-base pay codes)

Is there a way to tell a non-base pay in Pay Master to follow the same allocation as an employee's base pay?

Context
  • EERP

  • Pay Master

Cause

Educational

Resolution
  1. Go to Human Capital Management > Payroll > Payroll Setup > Pay Master

  2. Search for the pay code

  3. Go down to the Allocation dropdown menu and select one of the following:

    1. N - NONE

      1. Default value, no effect occurs

    2. P - LIKE BASE, ALL JOBS

      1. Tells the pay to use the same allocation as the base pays the employee has

    3. S - LIKE BASE, SAME JOB

      1. Tells the pay to only use the allocation as  the base pay with the same job class

  4. Click Accept

Additional Information

The P and S options allow you to designate whether the pays used to reallocate earnings should be all base pays for the employee or just the base pays with the same job class as the reallocation non-base pay. The default value is N–None for all new and existing pay codes.

For category 1–Base Pay pay codes, the default Allocation option is N–None and the list is not accessible.
