Change Starting Check Number Outside Payroll

How do I change the Starting Check Number in Print Payroll Checks, outside of the Payroll?

• Payroll Control Settings 

I want to set the starting check number for next payroll in advance, so in Payroll, Print Payroll Checks, it reflects the correct Starting Check Number now.  

1. Go to Payroll>Payroll Setup>Payroll Control Settings

2. Search Category: Default Numbers, Level: Next Check

3. Click Next Check

4. Click Update, define Value to the correct starting check number

5. Click Accept
