Locking Time and Attendance

Locking Time and Attendance

Description of Issue

Does Time and Attendance have a locking mechanism to keep users from accessing the site (example during a SaaS migration)?

Context
  • Time and Attendance

  • Services

  • Lock

  • Task Manager

Cause

Time and Attendance does not have a locking mechanism to keep users out. The only way to keep users from logging into Time and Attendance would be to stop the service for the specific instance.

Resolution

For on-prem clients, the following is how to stop the Time and Attendance service:

  • Open Task Manager

  • Scroll down until you see OpenJDK Platform binary in the Name Column

  • In the Command line column, right click the instance that you need to stop and click End Task

    • Example: "c:\ET_XXX\jdk\bin\java"

      • NOTE: if the Command line column is missing, right click the Name column and enable Command Line

  • This will stop the TA service and keep users out of TA

For Hosted clients, please contact Time & Attendance Support or log a case via the Online Support Client Portal and reference this article.
