AWS direct SQL connections to server/port

Description of Issue

Certain 3rd party integrating systems may require a direct server/port connection to the database over the F5VPN instead of an ODBC connection. There are different requirements for AWS vs the datacenter hosted EERP sites.

Cause

With direct SQL connections to AWS hosted database servers, port 1433 which is the standard SQL port and used for connecting to datacenter SQL servers, is not used due to both CS and CI instances on a single SQL server. 

Resolution

  • F5VPN is a requirement.

  • Contact TSM SaaS support for the correct server and port for the SQL instance.
