Error when editing employee email

Description of Issue

Client noticed that one of their users had X in the email. Upon attempting to edit it they receive the following error Error while trying to save: javax.persistence.PersistenceException: org.hibernate.ConstraintViolationException: could not execute statement

Context

  • ExecuTime

  • Time & Attendance

  • Master File Management

  • Edit

Cause

The issue was due to a inactive employee sharing the same email address.

Resolution

  1. Login to Time & Attendance with Admin Access

  2. Click System Admin

  3. Click Master File Management

  4. Uncheck Active Only

  5. Search for employee with the same email. You can use CTRL+F and type the email.

  6. Click the Edit Pencil Icon for the inactive employee

  7. Click Security

  8. Change inactive employees email 

  9. Click Save for current pay period

  10. Click the Edit Pencil Icon for the Active Employee

  11. Click Security

  12. Update the email to not have X in it

  13. Click Save for current pay period
