Convert from Using Salary Tables to Pay Bands

Description of Issue

Our site is planning on changing from Salary Tables to Pay Band Tables. Does anything need to be updated once the new tables are created?

Resolution

After creating the Pay Band Tables, the next step is to update the Min and Max Grades and Steps in Job Class Master and Position Control if applicable. 

Update the Grade/Steps in Job Class Master:

  1. Go to EERP> Human Resources/Payroll>Payroll> Payroll Setup> Job Class Master
  2. Click Search, define Job Class.
  3. Click Accept.
  4. Click Salary Data. 
  5. Click Update and change the applicable fields(Min Grade, Max Grade, Min Step, Max Step). 
  6. Click Accept. 

Update the Grade/Steps in Position Control:

  1. Go to EERP> Human Resources > Position Control and Budgeting > Position Control
  2. Click Search, define the Position
  3. Click Accept.
  4. Click Salary Data. 
  5. Click Update and change the applicable fields(Min Grade, Max Grade, Min Step, Max Step). 
  6. Click Accept. 

Once the Jobs and Positions have been updated, the Employee Job/Salary records will need to be updated to reflect the new salary information. 

Duplicate Employee Job/Salary Records:

  1. Go in to Employee Job/Salary (Payroll > Employee Maintenance > Employee Job/Salary)

  2. Search for the employee's base pay record.

  3. Click the Duplicate option in the ribbon.

  4. Change the Effective date to a date that falls on or before the start of the pay period. 

Additional Information

If there are a large amount of pay records to update, users may want to utilize the import option.
