How to prevent deductions from generating into one payroll

Description of Issue

I want to exclude a set of deductions from only pulling into one payroll. I would like them to generate as normal for future payrolls.

Resolution

How to prevent the deduction from generating into one payroll:

  1. Access Generate Earnings and Deductions for the payroll you do not want the deductions to pull into: Payroll > Payroll Processing > Payroll Start and Status > Generate Earnings and Deductions
  2. Click the Exclude Deductions folder
  3. Click Update, enter the deduction codes you want to exclude the in the available ranges and click Accept


How to prevent the deduction from generating into all future payrolls:

  1. Access Run Control: Payroll > Payroll Setup > Payroll Control Settings > Click Accept > Click Run Control
  2. Navigate to the desired run type record and click Generate Defaults
  3. Click Update > TAB into the Exclude Deductions section
  4. Enter the deduction code you wish to prevent in the available range
  5. Click Accept
