Difference between Standard and Custom Enterprise Forms

Description of Issue

Need to determine when to have a custom Enterprise Form (ReadyForms) template created instead of using the standard template.

How to tell if using a standard template or a custom template.

Context
  • ReadyForms
  • Enterprise Forms
  • Custom Templates
  • Standard Templates
Cause

Resolution

A lock icon next to the name of the template in Enterprise Forms Template Configuration is the indicator that it is a Custom Template.

Additional Information

Custom Enterprise Forms templates cannot be edited or modified from the Enterprise Forms Template Configuration page. These templates are customized form templates that are provided by, upon request, Forms Design. Once a template is converted to a Custom template, no further changes from the client's side can be made.

If unable to edit a template, but are certain to be using a Standard Template, permissions may need to be added or adjusted within the Enterprise Forms Administration page: Unable to Edit or Import Templates

If currently using a Standard Template and there are not options available to modify the form to suit your needs, a Custom Template can be requested: Request for Service Enterprise Forms Custom Template
