Allocation code is required in Services

Description of Issue

While updating a service, user is encountering the message Allocation code is required

Context
  • UBCIS 
  • Services 
  • Utility Billing Customers
Cause

This message indicates that the customer is set up for internal billing in the Utility Billing Customers program. An allocation code is required on each service in the Services program for internal billing customers.

Resolution

If the customer should not be set up for internal billing:

Navigate to Property Revenues > Utility Billing > Master Programs > Utility Billing Customers 

  1. Click Update 
  2. Uncheck the Internal bill checkbox
  3. Click Accept

If the customer should be set up for internal billing:

Navigate to Property Revenues > Utility Billing > Master Programs > Services

  1. Click Search
  2. Populate the intended Account and Billed customer ID
  3. Click Accept
  4. Click Update
  5. On the Additional tab of each service, populate an Allocation code in the Internal bill section
  6. Click Accept


Additional Information

When a customer is set up for internal billing, newly created bills are automatically paid during the Generate AR process of a Bill Run according to the Allocation Code assigned to the service
