How to manually load a data conversion pass for an OnPrem client 

Client needs a conversion pass loaded

A data conversion pass needs be loaded but the MIU is not installed and configured because it is being deprecated. 

Step 1: Prerequisites

• If loading the pass to a Production environment, you MUST take a backup of the Munis/Enterprise ERP database BEFORE loading the pass! (Ex: munprod, mu_live)
  • On Demand Backup For On-Premise Munis Clients
• If loading the pass to a non-production environment, verify if a database refresh is needed before the conversion pass is loaded
  • For a non-production environment, a refresh is typically necessary prior to loading the pass
• Verify if there are any SQL scripts to be run before and/or after the conversion pass is loaded
  • SQL scripts should be provided by Conversions Engineer via KiteWorks as needed

Step 2: File Preparation

1. Log into the ERP application server for the environment requiring the conversion
2. On the server, log into TylerTechnologies KiteWorks, navigate to the applicable client folder, and locate the conversion pass
3. Download the conversion pass .tar.gz file
4. After download completes, open File Explorer and navigate to the Downloads folder
5. Right click the .tar.gz file, select Properties, check off Unblock, then click OK
6. Open a second File Explorer window, then navigate to <datadrive>:\munxxx\temp
7. If it doesn't already exist, create a folder named Conversion
   1. Ex: D:\muntest\temp\Conversion
8. In the Conversion folder, create a new folder and name it tmp_conversionfilename
   1. Ex: Conversion pass file is named CV_ME_TylerTown_UB_01.tar.gz
   2. Server folder path would be: D:\muntest\temp\Conversion\tmp_CV_ME_TylerTown_UB_01\
9. Move the .tar.gz file from the Downloads folder to the newly created tmp folder
   
   1. Full file path would be: D:\muntest\temp\Conversion\tmp_CV_ME_TylerTown_UB_01\CV_ME_TylerTown_UB_01.tar.gz

Step 3: Load Conversion Pass

1. Log into the Enterprise ERP environment requiring the conversion as an administrator
2. From the menu, navigate to System Administration > Miscellaneous Administration > System Update
3. Click Define Update Options
   1. Type spdatldr into the Utility / Program ID field, then press TAB
      1. No value is needed for Arguments
   2. Click Accept
4. Click Run System Update
   1. Click Yes on the confirmation window
5. In the Munis Data Loader page, click Start
   1. Start Option: Click the dropdown and select Open Existing Munis Data Loader Package From Server
   2. Server Folder: Paste the path of the tmp folder that was created during the file preparation steps
      1. Ex: D:\muntest\temp\Conversion\tmp_CV_ME_TylerTown_UB_01\
   3. Package File: Click the ellipsis button (...), then double click the conversion pass file name, or click file name then click Accept
6. Once back on the Start Munis Data Loader page, click Accept
   1. On the confirmation window click Yes
7. Click Load and the conversion pass will begin to load into the environment
8. When it is finished processing, check the status at the bottom of the screen
9. If the conversion completed successfully:
   1. Run SQL script(s) against environment if needed via SSMS
   2. If no SQL scripts are needed, you are done
10. If there are rejected rows:
    1. In File Explorer, navigate to the server folder location where the conversion pass file was placed during the file preparation steps
       1. Ex: D:\muntest\temp\Conversion\tmp_CV_ME_TylerTown_UB_01\
    2. Use the search field to locate any files with file type .rej
    3. Select all .rej files and send to a zipped folder
    4. Upload the zipped folder to your KiteWorks folder
    5. Inform Conversions Engineer of the rejected rows
