Resolution

The following are the suggested Deduction Code Ranges

Deduction #Description
1000-1010Hard coded to represent FICA in all tax reporting. 
Must only be used for FICA
1100-1110Hard coded to represent Medicare in all tax reporting. 
Must only be used for Medicare
2000-2299

Tax Sheltered Annuity

2300-2399OPEN - User Defined (Can be used for pre-tax retirement)
2400-2799Section 125 (FICA-exempt)
2800-2999Deferred Compensation
3000-3010Hard coded to represent Federal Income Tax (FIT) in all tax reporting. 
Must only be used for Federal Income Tax.
3100Hard coded to represent EIC - Earned Income Credit in all tax reporting. 
Must only be used for EIC - Earned Income Credit 
4000-4999Hard coded to represent State Income Tax (SIT) in all tax reporting. 
Must only be used for State Income Tax
5000-5999Hard coded to represent Local Income Tax in all tax reporting. 
Must only be used for Local Income Tax
6000-6999Garnishments/levies
7000-7999Retirement (State, County, and so on)
8000-8999Post-tax Benefits, Union Dues, Other Miscellaneous Deductions
9000-9999Recommended to set 9999 as Net Direct Deposit
